Despite its reputation as a somewhat traditional spirit, Scotch whisky offers incredible diversity of flavour, with single malts and blends ranging from elegant, floral expressions to rich, fruity and chocolatey drams.
BenRiach has matured this 21-year-old single malt in a combination of four different cask types: virgin American oak, ex-Bourbon barrels, PX-Sherry and red wine casks. The Speyside distillerys spirit plays beautifully with ex-wine casks, which amplify the fruity notes while adding layers of balanced complexity. This expression is part of the classic range of unpeated whiskies from the distillery, and is one of the first creations from master blender Dr Rachel Barrie when she joined the distillery in 2017.

Tasting Notes
It starts out surprisingly fruity and vibrant with candied citrus peel, pears and orange zest with an undercurrent of creamy vanilla-spiked cookie dough. The cookies continue into the palate where an army of gingerbread men and a layer of delicate Sherry and red fruits rise to meet them. The finish is long and slightly dry, tainted with red wine and a creamy butteriness.
