Berry Bros No 3 - 70cl

British Gin

The UK is the motherland of gin, and remains its biggest producer. While gin is often believed to be a quintessentially English spirit, there many excellent gins made throughout the nation.

This gin technically straddles the ‘British’ and ‘World’ categories since its recipe has been created by London wine and spirits merchant Berry Bros & Rudd, though the gin is distilled in Holland. Berry Bros enlisted the help of distilling and bartending experts to create this award-winning gin, which uses six classic botanicals. These botanicals are steeped in a 100-year-old copper pot still before distillation begins, resulting in a bold and uncluttered London Dry.

Serving suggestions: Keep it classic with a Vesper – made with gin, vodka, quinquina and lemon – or a Martinez – made with gin, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, Angostura bitters and orange. For a G&T, stick to Indian tonic water and garnish with grapefruit and fresh rosemary.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, piney juniper, mint and lemon oil come to the fore, followed by thyme and orange. A complex combination of citrus and spice run through the palate in equal measure, offering notes of grapefruit, angelica, cardamom and chilli. A spicy sensation lingers.
