Canaima Amazonian Gin - 70cl

Gin may be typically associated with the UK, but there are now many producers around the world who are putting their own spin on things by creating exciting expressions that reflect their local heritage and provenance.
South American gin Canaima is produced by the same team behind Venezuelas excellent Diplomático rum. It is made using 10 sustainably sourced botanicals from the Amazon rainforest (including merey, túpiro and pijiguao), as well as one botanical from the distillerys region and eight traditional gin botanicals. Each botanical is macerated and re-distilled individually in small batches to extract maximum flavour.
Suggested serves: The tart flavours of Canaima play well in Cobbler-style drinks. Try it with Sherry, lots of ice and a mix of tropical fruit slices. You easily whip up the Amazonian Gin signature serve using grapefruit soda, ice and a slice of fresh grapefruit.
Tasting Notes
Zippy aromas of grapefruit zest and passion fruit come first, followed by cooked rhubarb and cut grass. Herbal flavours evolve more on the palate, with notes of eucalyptus, basil and dry juniper. A pleasantly bitter finish rounds things off.
