Unlike most gin, which is usually made from a base of sourced neutral alcohol, Finnish distillery Kyrö exclusively uses 100% wholegrain rye to create its spirits. The brands original gin is made using hand-foraged local botanicals including birch leaves, sea buckthorn, cranberries and meadowsweet.
Suggested serves: A Kyrö G&T is best garnished with cranberries and fresh rosemary. You could also swap vodka for Kyrö Gin to make a gin-based twist on the cranberry-flavoured Cosmopolitan.
Tasting Notes
Bright, floral nose with aromas of fresh blackberres and cooked lemon, as well as clove spice. Sea buckthorn is prominent on the palate with its notes of sour orange and ripe tropical fruit, which is offset by an earthy graininess. Finish is both juicy and peppery.
